INFLUENCE OF WESTERNISATION ON AFRICAN CULTURE

The forms of dressing back in the days were cloth, skins and hide and the rest is the body adorned with beautification makes and color pigments. Males simply wrapped the bark cloth that passed between the legs over a belt. Similarly to women wrapped the cloth over the belt to hide their bodies.

back in the 1900s, people used to not be ashamed for revealing their bodies. The clothing style changed over time for a variety of reasons which westernisation is part of.. Although environmental changes can have a drastic effect, trade causes the quickest shift in a cultural clothing style. Western style clothing including shoes, pants, shirts, dresses and businesse suits became increasingly common in urban cities. Many Africans wear a whole western style outfits while others combine traditional African style with western style.

Yes we as Africans are adopting their style but even the Western countries are too influenced by our fashion and style.
